    Cat & Kitten Shelter

Thank you for considering the adoption of a cat or kitten from our rescue. PAWS provide shelter and care for stray, homeless, unwanted and abandoned cats and kittens, with the goal of finding them loving forever homes.

We work closely with Animal Control Officers, veterinarians and other rescue groups to help as many cats and kittens as we can.  Our shelter is a 501c3 non-profit, no kill, all volunteer rescue.  In 2014 we placed 736 cats and kittens into new homes, in 2015 we placed 901 cats and kittens into new homes.

All of our available cats and kittens have been spayed or neutered, given vaccines, treated for fleas, dewormed and received any other care that might have been necessary when they came into our shelter.

Most of our kittens have been spayed or neutered, but if you adopt a kitten that has not yet been spayed/neutered, you will receive a voucher for $50 off of the cost of having it done at any of our participating veterinarians. If your veterinarian does not participate, please have them call us at 860-480-1104 and we will speak to them about our voucher program.

It is our policy that cats and kittens that are adopted from our shelter will be indoors only and never be declawed. We also want the cat or kitten to be right for your home and family so if, for any reason the adoption does not work out or your circumstances change, even years later, and you can no longer keep and provide for the cat, we will always welcome it back.

Our shelter is run strictly by volunteers who give their love, time and commitment to ensure that our cats and kittens find the loving and happy homes they deserve. Volunteer positions are always available and we have many different ways that volunteers can help the shelter. If you are interested in volunteering with us please let us know.

Our adoption donation is $100 for adult cats, $50 for cats over 8 years old and $125 for kittens and young cats under 1 year old.  Siberian cats and kittens are $300.  This helps with the cost of their care and enables us to provide for the next ones that come into our rescue, as well as those that are currently at the shelter.

Please fill out the attached application as completely as possible. If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to ask.
